1. We express our heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families who suffer from the earthquake occurred on March 11, and sends prayers for earliest possible restoration as well as everybody's safety and health.

ALGODE symposium scheduled for March 14-15 has been postponed until further information is obtained about the safety of the city of Tokyo, and Japan, in general. The organizing committee decided to put off the symposium in the light of this unprecedented event in Japanese history. We advise speakers and audience to keep safe and to follow this blog for further information. We apologize for the postponement and we will inform you about the rescheduling of the symposium when and where that will become possible in the next few months. Meanwhile, the proceedings of the symposium will be available for download at a special site. An online discussion forum will be set up soon. It is our hope that a discussion can serve as preparation for the upcoming rescheduled symposium. Such a discussion may point out the relevance of architecture, design, and computation to a local crisis in a time of global uncertainty.
